DIANE ELLIS

Do You Ever Think Of Me?

Diane’s lyrics and vocals speak of her journey – sometimes painful, sometimes exhilarating – as she stumbles toward an understanding of herself, then moves past that to an understanding and love for others and the world she lives in.

About The Artist

DIANE ELLIS is an actress, singer, songwriter and poet who’s lived in New York City for a long, long time. The photos on this album are “retro,” and were taken in Central Park “back in the day.” Melodies and lyrics for her original songs in this very personal collection were kept in a box for years, and, from time-to-time taken out, brushed off, and sung a cappella by Diane at out-of-the-way open mics in darker realms of Manhattan. Darker realms, reminding Diane of evenings in a rural village in the southern part of the mitten of Michigan where, as a child, she sang “I’m Looking Over a Four-leaf Clover,” accompanied by her house-painter father on guitar. Ebbing and flowing into circa 2016, at an open mic, Diane met Producer Phil Carroll of Recording Artists Development, Inc. In a magic moment, Phil revealed he heard chords to Diane’s songs. So, once again, she took her songs out of the box, brushed them off, and Phil – working his genius – brought Diane’s musical dreams to light. Diane’s lyrics and vocals speak of her journey – sometimes painful, sometimes exhilarating – as she stumbles toward an understanding of herself, then moves past that to an understanding and love for others and the world she lives in. She’s grateful that, in listening to this music, you’ve chosen to take this journey with her.
